Sebastian Vettel is one of Formula 1's most successful drivers. The German won four world titles in a row with Red Bull from 2010 to 2013, becoming the youngest champion in the sport's history at the time, and finished his career with 53 Grand Prix wins. After six seasons at Ferrari and two at Aston Martin he retired at the end of 2022, and he has since become known for his work on environmental and social causes.
Vettel has lived in Switzerland for many years, which is why he appears in Bilanz's ranking of the 300 richest people in the country. The 2025 list, published in November 2025, put his fortune at CHF 275 million, 266th overall, with Thurgau as his canton. That is about $334 million at the October 23, 2026 exchange rate.
How he made his money
Most of Vettel's wealth comes from 16 seasons of Formula 1 salaries. His title-winning years at Red Bull and his move to Ferrari in 2015 put him among the best-paid drivers on the grid, and he also earned bonuses and money from personal sponsors.
Unlike many champions he has kept a low profile with his money. He guards his family's privacy, and since retiring has spent much of his time on projects about sustainability and biodiversity rather than on big commercial deals.
