Domantas Sabonis is a three-time NBA All-Star and the son of Hall of Famer Arvydas Sabonis. He played in Spain for Unicaja Málaga and in college for Gonzaga before being drafted in 2016, then grew into one of the league's best big men with the Indiana Pacers. Since 2022 he has played for the Sacramento Kings, where he made the All-NBA team in 2023 and has led the league in rebounds three times.
The TOP 500 magazine's December 2025 ranking of the richest Lithuanians puts him 67th with €120 million, up 26 percent in a year. That is about $134 million at the October 23, 2026 exchange rate.
How he made his money
Sabonis' fortune comes from his NBA contracts, which grew sharply as he became an All-Star. The magazine estimated that his wealth grew by 26 percent in a year.
The TOP 500 figure is the magazine's estimate of his wealth, not his salary.
Like father, like son
Domantas was born in Portland while his father Arvydas played for the Trail Blazers, and grew up partly in Spain. Both father and son appear on the TOP 500 list; the father is far lower, at €25 million, because NBA salaries were much smaller in the 1990s.
He also plays for the Lithuanian national team.
Career at a glance
Sabonis began his professional career as a teenager with Unicaja Málaga in Spain, then played two seasons of college basketball at Gonzaga. Orlando drafted him 11th overall in 2016 and traded him to Oklahoma City the same night.
In Indiana he became a double-double machine and a two-time All-Star. The trade that sent him to Sacramento in 2022 for Tyrese Haliburton reshaped both teams, and in his first full season there the Kings reached the playoffs for the first time since 2006.
