Max Verstappen is the dominant Formula 1 driver of the 2020s. The Dutchman, son of former F1 driver Jos Verstappen, started his first Grand Prix at 17, won on his Red Bull debut at 18, and went on to win four world championships in a row from 2021 to 2024. He has spent his entire career inside the Red Bull family and is under contract with Red Bull Racing until the end of 2028.
Quote, the Dutch business magazine, includes him in its Quote 500 list of the richest people in the Netherlands. The 2025 edition, published in October 2025, put his fortune at €260 million, 264th overall, and at 28 he was the youngest person on the list. That is about $291 million at the October 23, 2026 exchange rate.
How he made his money
Verstappen's wealth comes mainly from his Red Bull salary, which has made him one of the best-paid drivers in the sport since he signed a long contract in early 2022. Motorsport.com, citing Forbes, reported he earned about $72 million in salary and another $6 million from sponsors in its 2025 ranking of the highest-paid athletes. That is income before tax, not wealth.
Quote has tracked the growth of that fortune each year. He first made the list in 2022 as No. 500 with €120 million, climbed to No. 428 with €150 million in 2023 and No. 322 with €210 million in 2024, helped by personal sponsorship deals, before reaching €260 million in 2025.
