Tyson Fury is one of the most successful heavyweights of his generation. The boxer from Manchester, who grew up in a family of Irish Traveller heritage, turned professional in 2008, shocked the sport by beating Wladimir Klitschko for the unified world titles in 2015, and later won the WBC title with a stoppage of Deontay Wilder in 2020.
The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 estimated his wealth at £162 million, putting him ninth among British sports figures. It was his first appearance on the list. At the October 22, 2026 exchange rate that is about $217 million.
How he made his money
Like most top heavyweights, Fury makes the bulk of his money from a small number of very big fights. His trilogy with Deontay Wilder between 2018 and 2021 and his two fights against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024 were among the biggest boxing events of their time, with the Usyk bouts staged in Saudi Arabia.
JOE's report on the 2026 list also pointed to his life outside the ring. The Netflix series At Home With The Furys, which follows him, his wife Paris and their family, has raised his profile with people who don't follow boxing. He has announced his retirement several times, most recently in January 2025, and returned each time.
His fight with Joshua was announced in September 2026 for December 11 in Cardiff, after the list was published.
About this estimate
This is the first time the Sunday Times has put a figure on Fury's wealth, so we don't yet have earlier estimates to compare it with. A long-awaited fight with Anthony Joshua, who sits one place above him on the list at £240 million, could change his number again.
We show the figure exactly as the Sunday Times published it, in pounds, with a rough dollar conversion. We have not adjusted it ourselves. Earnings from future fights are not included until the list publishes a new estimate.
The Sunday Times Rich List measures identifiable wealth, such as land, property, business stakes and significant shareholdings. It cannot see private bank accounts, so the real figure may be higher or lower.
