Since the earliest online report (2013)
Compares the 2013 report with the 2025 report, using the same method for both. He first took office in 1981 and joined the Senate in 1999. The Senate's online database has his electronic reports from 2013 on, so we can't show his wealth when he first took office. Changes can come from a spouse’s assets, market moves, property values, new debts or how filers choose bands, and the forms do not say which. We do not guess.

Where the money comes from
Main sources named in the disclosures and the reporting we cite. The forms don’t split the total into exact amounts, so we don’t show percentages.
Chuck Schumer reported household assets minus debts of $1.37M to $3.97M, a midpoint of about $2.67M, on his latest financial disclosure (Annual Report for CY 2025, filed May 14, 2026).
Chuck Schumer has represented New York in the U.S. Senate since 1999 and has led Senate Democrats since 2017, including four years as majority leader from 2021 to 2025. Before the Senate he served nine terms in the U.S. House, from 1981 to 1999, and before that three terms in the New York State Assembly.
He was born in Brooklyn and graduated from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He won a fifth Senate term in 2022, making him the longest-serving senator in New York's history.
What his 2025 disclosure shows
The report he filed on May 14, 2026 covers 2025. It lists 49 assets with a value, adding up to $1.6 million to $4.1 million. The largest are TIAA Brokerage DGVMM – Dreyfus Govt Cash Mgmt Investor Shs (joint, $250K–$500K); Congressional Federal Credit Union (joint, $100K–$250K) and Teachers Retirement System Deferred Compensation (spouse, $100K–$250K).
On the debt side, the report lists one debt, a mortgage with Citibank, held jointly, in the $100K–$250K band. Subtracting debts the same way gives a range of $1.4 million to $4 million, with a midpoint of about $2.7 million. The Senate form lists mortgages but usually not the homes they are on, so counting those mortgages as debts pulls the low end of the range down.
How the range has changed
Using the same method for every year, the midpoint of his disclosed range went from about $579,000 on his 2013 report to about $2.7 million on his 2025 report. The chart shows 13 reports from 2013 to 2025, each added up the same way, and nothing is filled in between them.
These are ranges built from the value bands on each form, not exact values. They move with market prices, property values, new or paid-off debts and the bands a filer picks, and the forms do not say which of these caused a change. Like every member of Congress, Schumer does not have to report a home he lives in, cars and personal belongings, or federal retirement savings such as the Thrift Savings Plan, so his real net worth could be higher than these forms show.
